Hymn & Scripture Challenge 2013 / Hymn # 2 It is Well With My Soul

Good Friday Morning to you and welcome to Patter's 2 Hymn & Scripture Challenge of the year.  And, what a beautiful hymn it is as I have always love this song.  It is well with my soul!  What peace and joy I have even in the midst of trouble and turmoil knowing it is well with my soul!  How do I know it is well with my soul?

First of all Romans 1:16 says, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek."  You see if you believe in Jesus and that he died for our sins and was raised again so that our sins may be forgiven, which is the gospel of Christ, then you can know it is well with your soul.  I also believed this within my heart and then I confessed it with my mouth.  For Romans 10:10 tells us that we need to do this, "For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."  So that is how I know that I have been saved and "It is Well With my Soul."

Each verse of this song just brings joy to my heart for it show us so much of what our Savior does for us daily.  Listen to this sweet song here.  Also, please stop by Patter's post and see what tragedy brought this song to us! She has a beautiful devotion on her post and so worth stopping by and reading.

Now on to my page!  Don't know what prompted all of this, but it just seemed to go onto the paper and this verse or verses would not leave my mind, so I felt it was the verse God wanted me to share with you today.  2 Timothy 4:7-8, I am awaiting that glorious appearing, It is Well With my Soul! Please click on the photo and you will be better able to distinguish the page since it is white.
